A number of major brands are sending customers unsolicited emails and opting them into data-sharing agreements with third parties automatically, research has claimed.

Companies listed in the latest report from Spam Ratings include Argos, Ticketmaster, Money Supermarket, Find A Property, Littlewoods and Woolworths.

Over a quarter of wireless networks don't have passwords, leaving personal and financial information at risk, according to research.

Identity fraud prevention firm CPP employed 'ethical hackers' to run an experiment on thousands of networks in six UK cities. They found that 40,000 were at high risk of attack.
